Theatre is my favorite thing to do. It has been since I was eight years old. I remember the first day of theatre I was involved in. It was absolutely terrifying. But soon i made really great friends and became much more confident in myself. Before I knew it, I was performing in my first play, and I haven't been able to stay off the stage ever since.
The Willow Glen Chlidren's Theatre program is where I began my acting career. It is a city funded program that has been going on since 1988. It is an amazing program that encourages children to be more confident and assured in themselves. The director of the program, Gavin Coffing, writes and directs every play and ensures that each child involved has a speaking role. There are many, many children involved who get to experience costumes, lighting, direction and being on stage in front of family and friends. Recently, our program has been recieving less and less recognition and support from the city, so we are trying very hard to get the word out on our own by holding improvisation workshops and programs after schools. We really want to get parents and children informed on what a great program this is. For more information about the Willow Glen Children's Theatre, feel free to visit our website! www.wgct.org
