Writing is always an integral part of a nutritional, balanced me. Writing is often expression and English classes do not provide that. Journalism does not provide that. School doesn't foster a very creative hub of intellectual stimulation, just mindless reiteration of the same concepts or focus on something that no one really cares about. It is good for college; however, it doesn't serve my purpose, at least directly.
What bothers me the most is the internet. The internet was once a tool for great minds to share information and now it's all about "social interaction" or gaming. There are multitudes of various writings such as fanfiction, blogging, and documenting. With the internet, anyone can say anything they want, the way they want and someone is bound to read it. Grammar and spelling have made way for shorthand and idiocy. I do analyze and read what others have to say or try to say. It is a sad spectacle when most of the things I read only further my impression that the internet is truly just a place for anyone to spew anything without thought or coherance. Then again, I might just be the biggest hypocrite I know.
When I'm not writing essays for school or writing about school and what horrible things I see every day, I enjoy writing comedy related things. I sometimes write things that analyze other's writings and point out hilarious things it may imply or look deeper for hypocritical statements and sometimes just add a hilarious counter point to whatever it is they say. Parodies are always fun as the people who enjoy the original usually get offended at my mockery; however, I really enjoy writing scripts of things. I create characters and I write scripts giving them a design through personality. I created a hippie type character who makes tragic mistakes in her past and parodies the stereotypical image of a homeless hippie who enjoys music and "stickin' it to the man". Watching some trashy things I see on television really does make me want to become a writer. Crudity and a lack of coherency are things that I detest too much, yet I see it all the time.
